A KAP Prescriber Relationship. A Clinical Community. Not Just a Referral Portal.

The Ko-Op gives licensed mental health clinicians and practitioners across Pennsylvania and Delaware. The prescribing relationship, clinical structure, and ongoing community to integrate KAP into their private practice, without joining a platform that asks them to fit into someone else's model.

Why The Ko-Op Exists

KAP Support That Feels Collaborative, Not Transactional.

Many therapists come to KAP because they are already doing deep, relational work with clients who need another way in.

But when therapists decide to bring KAP into their solo or private practice, the support around it can feel disconnected from the way they actually work. A portal. A fixed process. A prescriber they barely know.

For therapists who want to support their clients within a model they can trust, that matters. They want to know their clients are being cared for with the same thoughtfulness, communication, and clinical attention they bring to their own work.

KAP is not just a medication referral. It is a clinical process that works best when the therapist, prescriber, and client are held in communication. When questions can be asked. When nuance is understood. When the therapist is not treated like a referral source, but like an essential part of the treatment team.

That is the gap The Ko-Op was created to fill.

For clinicians across Pennsylvania and Delaware, The Ko-Op offers locally rooted KAP support for therapists who want a real prescriber relationship, ongoing communication, and a collaborative model that feels aligned with the rest of their practice.

We don’t just give therapists access to a network. We invite them in as partners in practice.

THE INSIDE VIEW

What It's Actually Like to Practice KAP Inside the Ko-Op.

Most pages describe what you get. We'd rather describe what it feels like.

IS THE KO-OP FOR YOU?

Who the Ko-Op Model Is Built For.

The Ko-Op model is built for licensed mental health clinicians and practitioners (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, PhD, and equivalent) in Pennsylvania and Delaware who want to integrate Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy into their private practice with a real prescribing partnership and a clinical consultation community behind them. You might recognize yourself in one of these.

The KAP-Curious Clinician

You’ve been reading, training, attending workshops. You can see KAP working for clients other modalities haven’t reached. You’re ready to bring it into your practice, but you want the prescribing relationship, the legal scaffolding, and the consultation community to be in place before you take your first client.

kap bootcamp 2

The Practitioner Already Doing KAP With National Platforms

You may already be referring your clients to a national KAP platform because it checks the basic box of getting them access to medicine. But over time, that can start to feel like all it offers. You may be looking for something more connected: a prescriber you can actually build a relationship with, a model that allows for clinical nuance, and a community that feels reachable when questions come up.

The Group Practice or Mental Health Clinic

You may be leading a group practice or clinic and want to bring KAP into your practice as a whole, without having to hire a prescriber or take on the financial and operational burden of building the model from scratch. The Ko-Op gives your clinicians access to a collaborative prescribing relationship, clinical and legal materials, and consultation infrastructure to support responsible integration. This allows your team to offer KAP with greater confidence from the start, while keeping risk, overhead, and operational complexity low.

Prescriber + Therapist, Done Relationally

Continuity of Care for the Client You Know Best.

The standard model in this field treats medical clearance as a transaction: the prescriber screens, approves or declines, writes a script, and disappears until the next quarterly check-in. The therapist holds everything else.

We don’t think that’s the right way to practice this medicine.

In many KAP models, the therapist sends the client out for medical clearance and then waits on the other side for a decision. The evaluation may technically get completed, but the deeper clinical context can get lost.

The Ko-Op works differently. Here, the prescriber is not a distant checkpoint in the process. They are part of the clinical conversation from the beginning, with attention to what you already know about your client, what concerns you may have, and what kind of support may be needed as treatment unfolds.

HERE'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

How to Apply,
and What Comes After.

We’ve kept this deliberately simple. There’s a form, a conversation, an onboarding, and then you’re practicing.

Apply

Fill out the application form on this page. We ask about your licensure, your practice, and what you're hoping to find in a community. Dr. Sophia Brandstetter, the founder of the Ko-Op, reads every application personally.

Discovery Call

A 30-minute conversation with someone on the Ko-Op team. Not a sales call. A mutual look at whether the fit is right for you, for us, and for the work.

Onboarding

If we both want to move forward, we walk you through everything: access to legal consent forms and practice materials, introduction to consultation groups, and connection to the prescribing relationship.

Practicing

You begin integrating KAP into your private practice, supported by the full Ko-Op scaffolding.

AN HONEST LOOK AT THE OPTIONS

Two Ways to Practice KAP.
Both Legitimate. Quite Different.

There’s more than one right answer here. Some therapists thrive on national platforms with standardized systems. Others want something smaller, more local, more conversational. We’ve laid out the honest contrast, so you can decide which one fits your practice.

National platforms / large networks
The Ko-Op
Prescribers you’re matched with through the platform, with mostly asynchronous communication.
A prescriber you build a real relationship with, reachable between sessions, who comes to know your clients and the way you practice.
A standardized protocol you adopt as-is.
A flexible model that shapes around your existing practice.
Onboarding through training modules and platform tutorials.
Onboarding through individual coaching with the Clinical Director, alongside weekly clinical consultation with local KAP practitioners.
Pricing structured to support the platform first, with clients absorbing higher costs across evaluation, prescribing, and ongoing care.
Our medical evaluation and prescribing fees are lower than all the national platforms, because when clients spend less on the medical side, they have more room to pay for the KAP therapy, preparation, and integration you provide.
Community lives in forums, directories, and occasional webinars with clinicians spread across a national and international network.
Community is built through clinical peer consultation groups, happy hours, coffee gatherings, local office space for clinicians in Philadelphia, and the ongoing conversations and referrals that continue between members.

If the right column is what you’ve been looking for, you’ll feel it reading this page. We trust that.

THE REAL QUESTIONS THERAPISTS ASK US

Honest Answers to the Questions That Actually Come Up.

Yes. Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware are currently the three states where our membership is active. If you practice elsewhere, reach out anyway. We’re growing, and we’ll let you know as soon as we’re able to support licensed mental health clinicians and practitioners in your state.

Yes. The Ko-Op is built for licensed mental health clinicians and practitioners who want to integrate KAP into their practice thoughtfully, with real support around them. We provide the training, the legal materials, the prescribing relationship, and the consultation community to help you start well. You don’t need to arrive already expert.

We don’t see this as a switch. We see it as a different way of practicing. Some of our members have come from larger platforms because they wanted a closer prescriber relationship, a more flexible model, and an anytime-accessible community they could reach in real time. Some keep one foot in both worlds, and that’s fine too. The discovery conversation is a good place to think through what makes sense for you.

The Ko-Op model is built to flex around your practice rather than the other way around. We provide the scaffolding (clinical, legal, medical, community), and you operate inside it the way that suits you. Dosing settings, session structure, integration approach, pacing: those remain yours. The prescriber relationship and outcome monitoring are shared with our medical team, and most everything else adapts to how you already work.

Your clients have an initial virtual medical evaluation with a Ko-Op prescriber. From there, follow-ups, refills, and outcome monitoring are handled in collaboration with you, not in isolation. Communication happens through clear channels, with response times appropriate to clinical work. We walk through this in detail during onboarding.

Yes. Prior KAP training is required to join The Ko-Op.

For clinicians who have not yet completed a formal KAP training, we offer an alternative onboarding pathway through one-on-one coaching with Dr. Sophia. This option is designed to give you the support, clinical orientation, and practical guidance you need to begin integrating KAP into your practice without committing to an expensive year-long training program right away.

If you are interested in this pathway, reach out to schedule a meeting and discuss whether it would be the right fit for you.

If you’re located near our space at 1625 South Street, yes. The therapy rooms are available for KAP sessions, client meetings, or integration work, and you can use them as much or as little as suits your practice.
