The Ko-Op

The Mission: Dedication to increasing Access, Safety and Understanding of psychedelic therapies and altered states of consciousness through a collaboration of like-minded practitioners.

Dedication To Advancement

The Ko-Op Mission

What is a Ko Op?

The Ko-Op is an association of allied members working together towards a shared goal of destigmatizing psychedelic therapies and altered states of consciousness. Our core values are Equality, Partnership and Safety. The Ko-Op provides a safe and welcoming space and a community devoted to discussion and collaboration.

Our Principles Guide Us

Equality

Inclusion of all members who are certified in treating individuals in an expanded state of consciousness and who uphold the Ko-Op’s values.

Partnership

Cooperation among Ko-Operatives through connecting, supporting, and sharing knowledge with each other and the surrounding community.

Safety

Supporting safer practice with an on-site medical team, supervision, peer consultation, and continuing education programs.

Enhancing The Physical Journey

Our Location Set & Setting

Set and Setting of the Ko Op

The Ko-Op space has been designed with the intention of enhancing the set and setting of a psychedelic journey. The term set and setting was first introduced by Timothy Leary and his colleagues at Harvard and is elaborated on in their 1964 guidebook, The Psychedelic Experience: A Manual Based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead. The set and setting describes the interconnection between a person’s mental state (set) and external environment (setting), and how the symbiosis of the set and setting may enhance or impede an individual’s journey.

Location Benefits

Amidst the storm and stress of Center City Philadelphia, the Ko-Op is a safe harbor.

All Ko-Op members have their own personal digital code to enter the building. A stocked kitchen with a large table for communing greets everyone! On the top floor, there’s a deck designed as a serene space for silent contemplation. All rooms have been thoughtfully considered and include materials beneficial to the journey.

  • Headphones and speakers
  • Eye shades
  • Couches, Cushions, Floor Mattresses
  • Meditation Chairs
  • Pillows, Weighted Blankets, Fresh Linens
  • Members are encouraged to bring any materials they feel will enhance the space and practice.

Safety Safety Safety

The Ko-Op considers safety an integral part of the set and setting. The Ko-Op serves as the foundation to support members ability to work independently within a secure and controlled environment. A Ko-Op medical team member is on sight to assess and prepare patients for KAP [Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy], answer arising questions and concerns, and provide medical support and guidance throughout the journey.

The Ko-Op Physician serves as the prescriber for patients being treated at the Ko-Op.

From Assessment To Administration

The Three Step Process

Step 1

Evaluation

All Ko-Op patients meet with our prescriber for a Complete Evaluation.

Step 2

Delivery

Oral Ketamine prescriptions are mailed to the patient’s house 3-5 days after their Evaluation

Step 3

The Journey

Patients bring their Oral Ketamine prescription to the Ko-Op for their KAP [Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy] session. The Ko-Op medical team clears them for KAP and the patient administers their Oral Ketamine (troche/lozenge) and begins their journey.
